His eye is on each of these children of Judah, from both the Pharez and Zarah lines, and He’s got a plan to use them in the last days. God’s hand was in the intricate details to make this come to pass, and to this day He’s keeping His word. God bestowed a blessing of a prophecy on Jacob’s undeserving son, Judah: the giving or keeping of the law, and the right to rule until Shiloh comes. He sees our hearts and our commitment, and He has called us for a purpose. As a type, they show us that no one is small or insignificant to God. Scriptural and secular records point to where these tribes were moved and who they became. God promised in multiple passages to scatter the House of Israel, the so-called Lost Tribes, and plant them in a place of their own. This whole picture shows us that God is in control, and He cares about the details of our lives. Those who left Gozan and those who settled in the mountains of the Medes left a trail of breadcrumbs that we can trace on a timeline through history by using the Bible, the Apocrypha, other auxiliary sources such as Josephus’ Antiquity of the Jews, and even archaeology. He's not finished with us, His people, or His plan. All of this speaks of God's sovereignty and when everything looks lost in our eyes it's not lost in God's eyes. The northward and westward migrations led to a dominance of Europe, the formation of England, and ultimately a spreading around the world, fulfilling the prophecies of God's scattered people. There are records of invasions and migrations and we can trace the changes in the names of these groups throughout history.
